2022 Congressional Art Competition

I am happy to announce our 2022 Congressional Art Competition, which will give High School students across Burlington and Ocean Counties an opportunity for their artwork to be featured in Washington, DC in the halls of the U.S. Capitol.

This year our contest will run from March 28th to April 22nd. All submissions must be received by no later than 5:00 PM on April 22nd. Judging will then be held and a winner will be announced in early May.

The following is a summary of the Congressional Art Competition rules:

Artwork entered in the contest may be no larger than 26 inches high, 26 inches wide, and 4 inches in depth and not weigh more than 15 pounds (even when framed). If your artwork is selected as the winning piece, it must arrive framed and must still measure no larger than the above maximum dimensions.

Accepted mediums for the two-dimensional artwork are as follows:

  • Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
  • Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal (It is recommended that charcoal and pastel drawings be fixed.)
  • Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints
  • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor, etc.
  • Collages (must be two dimensional)
  • Computer-generated art
  • Photographs

Students will be able to enter their work virtually and complete all necessary forms at this link.
