UNDERSTAND & RESEARCH

BIOmedical illustrator / animator

Drawing hands can be very scary sometimes, but if you want to be an illustrator or a character designer you need to learn the anatomy of the body in order to draw proportionally and realistically. Only then will you be able to distort the body the way you need to when you want to.

The field of Medical illustration is a unique applied art discipline comprised of professional medical illustrators and animators. It falls within the more general field of biomedical communication.

To start, let’s watch this video on bone structure and start our study of hands.

So what exactly is a medical illustrator/animator?

A medical illustrator is a professional artist with specialized training and advanced education in medicine, science, art, design, visual technology, media techniques, and in theories related to communication and learning.
