I want to give a big shout out to Mrs. Perry of Bullock Elementary school for hosting us this semester. It was a real pleasure-it made me see exactly what I want to be and what I do not want to be when I have my own classroom. A definite eye opener. I had the pleasure of spending seven weeks with a former Rowan University graduate who started out in a horrible situation in an urban environment and finally got her chance at a quiet suburban school. Not realizing this at first, but Bullock Elementary is literally within five minutes of my house. First YEA!
Trying to fit my school schedule around my daughters school schedule is hard enough. But having to do field work is sometimes trying. This semester was easy as pie! The times I needed fell perfectly around my daughter, and because I was five minutes away it helped even more.
The classroom itself was like a dream come true-it’s huge, full of glass windows ceiling to floor, high ceilings. It really is beautiful. And from what I learned Mrs. Perry was quick to snap it into her own classroom with adorable paint splats and colors galore. Check out some of the pictures below. I am keeping the ideas close so when I have my own classroom I can look back and take some ideas from her.
